Millions and Hundreds

By thatgirloverthere

I got stuck thinking of a name for this blog. Sitting in front of the laptop for a whole half hour staring at the same page is hard.. (well.. occasional trips to the fridge and one trip to the toilet kinda helped).. I came up with several names..

1. Lunaticz – Not nice la. Too Loony.. people’ll expect to read more crazy stuff… and even though I’m crazy, I’m not THAT crazy..

2. Growing up -  Name of my previous blog but some bugger got it already.. :(

3. justme – not vain enough la.. I’m NOT only me.. i’m ME!

4. ONLY ME! – err.. too vain… well, I am vain, but not quite there yet..

5. Idunnowhattonamethis – I’ll totaly regret this name…

6. Mildred – BE MORE CREATIVE LA! MILDRED ALREADY SOUNDS LIKE AN OLD LADY’S NAME!

7. OHforgetit- yeah.. forget it.. don’t set up this blog.

I hate arguing with myself. I never WIN!

I was going to close the browser when BAM! it hit me.

*forgive the ugly editing.. was too excited to name the blog*

Millionhundred.wordpress.com

Yes. That describes me perfectly~Why, you wonder?Well, because of my name, I get to be creative with my introduction.

Example:

Me: Hi. Nice to meet you.

Person 1: Hey there. Nice meeting you too. My name’s *a really normal name, eg. Brian*. You?

Me: Brian right? I’m Mildred.

Brian: err.. Pardon?

Me: Mil-Dred. yeah Mildred.

Brian: oh.. how do you spell that?

Me: M-I-L-D-R-E-D.

Brian: Erm.. *in a softer voice* Do you have a nickname?

Me: *gives a light laugh to tell that person that I don’t mind him not being able to pronounce my name* Well, it’s easy to remember my name. Take the Mil from Million, and the Dred from Hundred. Put it together, you get Mildred. Easy, no?

Brian: *laughs* Yeah. That helps. So…. (conversation goes somewhere else)

See how fun it is to introduce me? Haha.. I used to hate my name. Mildred Vanessa Epui. Sounded so bumiputera-ish.. plus the fact that it is SO NOT A POPULAR NAME. So, I introduced myself by my chinese name, HuiHui. I am not a chinese by the way. Just half. Well.. 90% chinese, 10% kelabit. Okay, Okay.. 98% chinese, 2% kelabit. Only my name’s kelabit. All the other parts are chinese. (Used to be ah lian ma… so wanted to be as chinese-y as possible)

Then, the ah lian phase faded off.. and I became Mildred. It’s still hard to introduce myself. So, I came up with something nice, creative and funny. Million and hundred. My best so far. hehe..

Millions of laughter and hundreds of tears to remind me that If i didn’t have tears, i wouldn’t know laughter.

Millions and hundreds of everything and anything.. to bring me to where I am now..

 One and Only.. Me

*it has to be big… me what!*
